Saturday is my long bike day. Today I did 56 miles at a pace of 15mph. I didn’t feel wiped out afterwards, since that distance is no longer huge for me 🙂
Sunday is my long run day. I have to drive my daughter to camp tomorrow, so I’ll be spending 10 hours in the car. Blah!
I was planning to do my long run immediately after my long bike today. However, it was 12:30 when I got home, and I had family type stuff to do. So, I decided to skip the long run. I will run on Monday instead, and shorten it since it’s getting close to my race day.
Not the best scenario for my training, but I put my family first today.
I don’t always put my family first. In fact, more often than not the past two years, I haven’t put them first. Last year, I was teaching, which was a 12 hour a day job. I had no time for anything back then. The year before, I was totally focused on triathlon (read: midlife crisis) and always put my workouts first, before everything else.
Now, I’m trying to find a balance. Sometimes me first, sometimes other stuff first. Hmmm…maybe I should say sometimes other stuff first, sometimes me first…?
