My work buddy named Steve gave me a set of Roller Trainers. OMG, what a great workout. It forced me to engage my core, keep a high cadence and high speed, good pedal stroke, and minimal upper body movement. Basically, forced me to have good form. I videotaped my first try at it. The first 10 minutes consisted of falling down alot. The next ten was holding onto the armchair with one hand and trying to hold steady. Then I got the hang of it and did 10 minutes solid. Good times! Can’t wait to try it again!
I think it was a good idea to set the rollers up in front of the couch! I’ve heard of folks using them in a doorway, but the couch is much better. Fun to watch! Really enjoy your blog…good luck on the upcoming half.
Thanks for sharing the video. Rollers look a really good way of practising at home, especially in bad weather.
Carol – I really like the layout and setup of your blog. My wife is a triathlete and trainer and is looking at setting up something similar. What service did you use and did you set it up yourself?
What a good falling down you got there..It really makes my stomach break because of laughing. It really helps me to forget some problems. What a cool trainer rollers you got there. I think I want to have a try on it.
God Bless you guys.
Thanks for the good laugh this morning, needed it!!
Seriously though – you looked like you got in the “groove”, more stable on your aerobars than on the bullhorns! Falling was priceless!! 🙂
See you in a week!
Just wanted to say I loved your video! A few comedy moments but boy did you stick with it! Looks a really tough challenge, harder than on the road. I’ve been looking at turbos recently which seem easier but less comedy 🙂
Keep up the great work.
Best wishes
Joanna
