Are you just getting started in triathlons? Or perhaps you are just thinking about it but not sure if it’s for you….
First of all, you don’t have to be athletic or have a lean body to enjoy the sport of triathlon. By simply training for one, you will attain physical fitness, have fun, and most likely – you’ll lose some of those extra pounds. Having a goal to complete a triathlon race is an excellent way to motivate yourself to workout on a regular basis.
The best beginner training programs can be found at the Beginner Triathlete website. Their programs are better than the programs in any of the books I have read.
If you think you are too out of shape or overweight to do a triathlon, then read the book Slow Fat Triathlete. It is hilarious and will teach you that you can do it!
For basic information on what gear you’ll need, how transitions work, and other basic information, get the book Triathlon 101.

Good luck! If I can do it, anyone can!
