I saw a news report about researchers at Case Western Reserve University who have genetically altered mice to make them run faster and longer. The link below goes to a video that shows a genetically engineered PEPCK-C mouse and a mouse from the control group on a rodent treadmill. While the normal mouse gives up at 0.2 kilometers, the mighty mouse perseveres for almost 5 kilometers, at 20 meters per minute.

I liked the post from a guy right below the video - "I already have a hard time getting rid of rodents". Well, now they'll be faster and have great endurance skills - it'll be even harder to get rid of them. Work of a triathlete!
