I started writing this at the end of my last post, Panic on the Treadmill. However, this line of thought deserves it’s own place in the blogosphere.
Hmmm…I just had a thought. “Shut up Brain” implies the forceful pushing of your body beyond it’s perceived maximum abilities. That will take you far, to be sure. But, perhaps truly breaking beyond the mental barrier may be more of a relaxed, letting go process. Maybe “let it go, brain” or “be quiet brain”…?
Maybe I THINK TOO MUCH. Maybe it’s a process of clearing your brain of all thought.
Sort of like an out of body experience.
That makes me think of “Kung Fu”:
Let all effort flow out of your body. All heat flow from your body. The weight of your body becomes less and less. Until the body becomes one with the spirit. Which is as light as a feather. As a breath…a moment…as nothing at all.–KF

"Clearing your brain of all thought"
You know, I think I'm able to do this quite frequently while running. Of course, doing it when my body wants to quit is different, but I like the image you've given me here and will be putting it to good use.
By the way, thanks for reading and commenting in my blog. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just talking to myself, so it's nice to know there's SOMEONE out there who's interested in what I'm doing.
