Lisa is a woman who found my blog last year while searching for triathlon info. She trained hard and did her first race today and wrote to me about her experience…here’s what she wrote:
Hi Carol –
Today was race day!!
The good: I was right on my personal target time. I finished at just over 1:37:00. I had estimated a finish time of 1:38:00, so I am really happy with how I did.
The bad: I took a tumble coming out of the swim into the transition area. Ouch! I took it worst on my chin, luckily not bad enough to require medical attention until after the race ended and no stitches needed.
The ugly: That would be my face right now…with my swollen, red, scraped up chin.
Here are the photos that Mark took. I recommend slide show mode and you can see my editorial comments: http://tinyurl.com/kt4gu
God has been gracious to me this past year as I worked toward this goal. I had a great time (except for the tumble), and am very thankful for good health.
Thanks for the inspiration that I gained from your blog site.

Congrats, Lisa!
My wife and I are just starting our training for sprints next spring (say that 10 time fast) and this site has been an inspiration for us, as well! Glad you beat your goal and excited that you got your first race under your belt!
Hope to join you soon!
