400M Free: 7:49.21, First Place
50M Breast: 57.43, Second Place
50M Free: 45.12, Third Place
I have to be honest and admit that I was also last in all these events, but still, I was very pleased with my times. When training alone, I could never do better than a pace of 35 seconds per 25M. So, to do a 50M free in 45 seconds, and under 8 minutes for a 400M Free is really great! Once I learn to keep that pace up (or even better) for a full triathlon distance swim, then I will have good swim times in my next tri race. 😀
At practice, I could only swim the 400M in 9 minutes. I was totally amazed and thrilled to look up and see under 8 minutes on the clock when I was done. I learned today that I can really push myself in swimming alot harder than I have been. My arms and shoulders are actually sore!
Being on a Master’s swim team, and doing the meet, has really challenged me to push myself hard and improve. Plus, I love the coaches… Jeff and Brent are awesome!
