I was laying in bed last night thinking about food. I wasn’t really hungry, I was just feeling deprived. I had eaten a large slice of Pop’s Gourmet White Pizza for lunch. Yum! Then, my daughter wanted me to make homemade pizza for dinner, so I did. It turned out really great, too…or so I was told. You see, I didn’t have enough calories left in my day to eat more pizza for dinner. So I ate cottage cheese and a salad while the rest of my familiy enjoyed that pizza I made.

Last night, as I lay in bed thinking about that pizza I didn’t get to eat, my mind wandered again to Michael Phelps and his 12,000 calorie per day diet, and how hard it will be for him to change his eating habits when he no longer needs that much food.

Then I thought about Lance Armstrong’s return to the Tour de France. I mean, what does that guy need to prove? He’s already won that title 7 times! Does he really think he can make a comeback?

Cool

Since it’s just about calories…Lance should shoot for winning the Kona World Championship Ironman. Seriously, training for ironman burns a ton of calories, so that should do the trick! From a career standpoint, if Lance goes for Kona and has a lackluster result, it’s no big deal. He doesn’t have anything to prove to the world about his athleticism. And…what if he won a top Kona spot? Then he’d surely be the greatest athlete in the world.

Not Cool

On the other hand, if Lance continues on his current quest for more Tour de France glory, and doesn’t win… he just ends up looking like Michael Jordan.
