The best place to swim at Jordan lake is Ebenezer Church beach. You can swim just outside the rope line and sight against the buoys and it’s a super workout. There is no lifeguard, but I feel safe swimming even alone. If you ride your bike into the park, you don’t have to pay a fee. Otherwise, it is $6 per car in season (Memorial day thru labor day). I think you can buy a yearly parking pass for $20.

Hi,
I'm going to sign up for Lake Jordan tri but I would like to try and open water swim this Wedneday 9/15/10 or weekend. Does anyone plan on showing up at lake Jordan tomorrow or the weekend for open water trials? Any time will be fine. Just email me: loyola73@hotmail.com
Regards,
Dan.
I have recently started training to swim the English Channel, and I live in Asheboro, NC. I need to find a body of cold water where the temps drop to the low 60s to high 50s. I need to condition myself to swim in these temps for progressivley longer periods of time. I am hoping the temps are still cold at Jordan Lake and I'd like to find the place where it's ideal to swim. If someone could shoot me an email detailing specific location and any other info you think I need, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Hank McGovern
isnt it a nice feeling when you come accross a new place to swim in? ... I recently got together with some buddies of mine who knew of this lake that was safe to swim in (minus the story about the alligator living in it) but overall its nice to practice in the field and not in a pool.
keep up the good work!
