I did the P90X Plyometrics workout tonight. I’d had a busy day and didn’t really feel like working out. But I had eaten some cookies and felt I needed to burn them off, so I pulled out my P90X workout guide. Plyometrics was the next one on my workout list, so I got my ass in gear and did it!
It was alot of fun and alot of hard work. If you don’t know what Plyometrics is, it’s alot of jumping. You definitely need to wear running shoes for this one!
I really get into the workouts, and I like the things Tony says. For example, “Nobody said it would be easy” and “I know you’re tired, but so what!?”
I tweeted a bit before, during and after. The nice thing about tweeting my workouts is that I have a nice twitter stream for including in my blog posts…
This is what I wrote in my BT log:
Did the Plyometrics DVD. First half was alot of fun. Then it got really hard. Totally Awesome! I did not realize I was going for a whole hour utnil I looked at my Garmin data! HR: 140 avg, 164max.
Here’s my graph – I was busting my ass, for sure!

Great article. Love the heart rate monitor output - how do you do that?
Does your garmin gps hr monitor give you the calories burned during plyo? I have the garmin 305 and will be starting p90x next week. Thanks
OK, so I just got the P90X dvds. How were the plyometrics? I've heard killer stuff about the Ab Attack!
Hi Carol,
Just have to mention that i have the P90X workout too, great training to include in any fitness program. By the way i have to check out the Garmin, i have some friends who have them and swear by them.
Bye for now
Mike
Hi Brian,
The graph is from the Garmin Connect site. I have a Garmin 50 - basic HR monitor, and a Garmin 310xt - GPS HR monitor. If you search my blog for Garmin you should find where i have talked about them. Both give me the great HR data. The 310 also gives me mapping and speed and stuff like that.
Carol
What kind of heart rate monitor do you have that allows you to see the workout/heart rate graphed like that?
