Pain during Taper

(written the day before my 1/2 ironman race)
Whenever I am tapering for a race, I get all these aches and pains that I never had before. It’s really strange. I also feel fat and bloated, and my legs feel heavy, like they have way too much muscle on them. And, most notable, I AM BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS!

I went to a physical therapist once, and they asked me to create a ‘pain diagram’, by marking where on my body I experienced pain. Just for fun, I did that tonight. I know, I ought to be going to bed now…but I just have all this extra energy!

Someone from the BT forums pointed me to this great article, which talks about all of these symptoms I have been experiencing: Taper Traps. Make sure you read all the pages by clicking on the NEXT button at the bottom.
