I came in third place age group at Bandits. I didn’t think I’d have a chance at top three spot this race, because there were going to be three really fast females there. But, I beat one of them! I can’t believe it! Everything went great. My nutrition and hydration plan was just about perfect, my pacing on the bike was perfect, and that left me in great shape for a solid run. The woman who came in fourth was on my tail the whole run course, and I was able to hold her off. At each turn around, I was able to gauge her position and kept up a hard effort to stay ahead. This is truly a breakthrough race for me. Holding off someone on the run like that was so difficult, mentally and physically, but I did it. I used all my mental tricks and they worked this time! 57 minutes for the run split, which is 5 minutes faster than Over the Mountain, which was a much easier course. I’m exhausted and need sleep now. Will do race report later.
Had a pleasant drive up there my swimming buddy, Tom H. He made a PR and beat last years time by 10 minutes. Way to go!
This is what I thought about some of the time during the run…
Suffer Well
I just hang on
Suffer well
Sometimes it’s hard
It’s hard to tell

Congratss on placing 3rd. You looked really happy starting the run and you finished with a super strong kick! Scott and I were both impressed at how you pushed it at the end.
