I’m planning on adding strength training to my workout regime this season. The book Training Plans for Multisport Athletes says to do Strength training twice per week, and gives details about what muscle groups to work, and guidelines for how much weight to lift. But it says nothing about what exercises to do. I think they assume you belong to a gym and you can go ask at the gym for what exercise to work your hips or lats!
I don’t want to join a gym, so I found this site about using dumbells.
I’ll post more info as I figure it all out!
Update August 2006.? The only strength training I have been doing is the Core Workout.? I use 8 lb dumbells for the presses, and 2-4 pound for everything else.
