I got three new Spinervals DVD’s for Christmas (I asked for them). Last week, I did the Suffer-o-Ramma workout. This week, I did The Uphill Grind. I love/hate them!
Spinervals DVD’s have been the best thing for improving my cycling skills. They feature Coach Troy Jacobson along with a team of elite cyclists leading a workout for an indoor bike trainer. They illustrate exactly what gear you should be in at all times, and how hard you should be working (i.e., what level your heart rate should be at). It’s extremely hard to keep up the pace, but I get better each time (which is the whole point, right?) I think the biggest benefit I get out of them is learning how to “dig in deeper” – to keep on pushing hard even tho I am tired and want to quit.
I try to do one Spinervals workout per week. Here’s the list of DVD’s that I own…gotta love those names!
I use a Cycle-Ops Mageneto Trainer for my indoor bike workouts.
Hey, I was just looking for a triathlon blog and found you! I just want to congratulate you and cheer you up (if that’s the correct way to say that) I’m mexican, I used to be a weightlifter and had a knee surgery about a month and a half ago. I want to start training for a triathlon, I don’t know but it inspires me, and reading your blog makes me wanna start running… of course I’m on a recovery fase and perhaps I won’t run in about a month or something… but anyway, it’s great to read your training stories and just, keep it up, I’ll come here more often and read your progress… any tips to start practicing your sport are welcome… good job!
