Here's a quick race report of the Cleveland Turkey Trot Race I ran today…
My race time was 42:54.70, which is a per mile pace of 8:35
I came in 19th out of 85 in my age group, which is top 22%.
The weather was cold and rainy and windy…brrrr!
I checked my stopwatch at each mile marker. I ran the first four miles at around a pace of 8:10 per mile. Whenever I felt myself slow down, I thought of Hal Higdon's quote "The winner is often the one who slows down the least", and that helped me pick up my pace again. I hit the 4th mile marker at 34:00, so my last mile was the slowest, even tho I really felt as if I picked up the pace. It was a fun race, and I'm happy with my result.

Great race. Your training has made you faster. Any more fall or winter races coming up?
I finished 40:12--19/39 for my age group. Better than I expected. It felt good putting on my old racing shoes. It also felt good racing before the feast.
