I had a very busy day yesterday. It was nice, actually. I had work to do, a meeting at lunch with my daughter’s teacher, a proposal to prepare for a potentially new client, then an evening meeting with that potential new client. He’s still not ready to move forward, but it’s a promising new project. No time to work out until 7:30 pm. I missed a really nice sunny day for a bike ride too.
So, it was the trainer for me. The only way I can stand riding on my trainer is to do it with Coach Troy, aka, Spinervals. My plan called for a 1:25 ride, with Lactate Intervals. I chose to do two Spinervals: “No Slackers Allowed”, and “Suffer-o-Rama”. I love those titles. I love/hate the workouts.
I set my trainer up on the deck outside and used my laptop as the DVD player. It was kind of hot, at 80 degrees and 81% humidity. Didn’t bug me too much tho. I am heat acclimated at this point in the season! Here’s a picture I took near the beginning of the workout. I was still similing. LOL!
During some of the recovery sets, I tweeted what I was feeling. These are my tweets in reverse chronological order.
@timwaz : @triblogcarol sounds like a great workout tonight!!!
When you like suffering – when you like all the pain in your legs and your body – it means you are good. -Ignatas Konovalovas (this quote is from my earlier Masochist post)
the secret to good bike split in #triathlon is to work your ass off in training, but NOT during the race.

I have a Cyclops Magneto trainer. I’ve used it for my killer workouts for three years and it’s still ticking!

Cyclops also makes a Wind Trainer which is great but noisy.

I got the magnet one, only so my family wasn’t bothered by the noise. I think Wind is actually better from a resistance point of view.
Carol,
What kind of trainer do you have? I’m in market and want to purchase a decent model. Appreciate any guidance.
